Telehealth guide

Getting ready for your telehealth session

Sessions run on Microsoft Teams. A few minutes of setting up means you'll get the most out of your time with Monique.

Set your laptop up to 4 metres away (for the physical assessment). A helper nearby is useful for physical assessments, if you have one.

Before your session

Your checklist

Work through this the day before, then again 10 minutes before you start.

1

Get set up on Teams

Your booking confirmation includes the Microsoft Teams link. Download the Microsoft Teams app before your first appointment, as it usually works better than the browser, and make sure your device is up to date. Older devices that can’t be updated often have camera or connection problems.

2

Use a laptop, not your phone

A laptop gives Monique a better view and is easier to position. Plug it in so the battery doesn't run out.

3

Clear enough space

You'll need room to stand, walk a few steps and move safely. Move rugs, cords and furniture out of the way.

4

For the physical assessment, set your device up to 4 m away

Put your laptop on a table or bench up to 4 metres from where you'll be, so Monique can see your whole body.

5

Have someone with you, if you can

For a physical assessment, a second person can help keep you safe and adjust the camera. If no one's available, that's okay. Let us know before your session and we'll plan around it.

6

Find a private spot

Choose somewhere quiet where you're comfortable talking about your health, and wear clothes you can move in.

Microsoft Teams

How to join your session

You don't need a Microsoft account, and you don't have to install anything. Join a few minutes early so there's time to sort out your camera and sound.

Best browsers: Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. If you'd rather use the Teams app, you can choose that instead.
  1. Open your booking confirmation email and select the link to join the meeting.
  2. Choose Continue on this browser, or Join on the Teams app if you have it.
  3. When asked, select Allow so Teams can use your camera and microphone.
  4. Type your name if asked, check your camera and microphone are on, then select Join now.
  5. You may wait in the lobby for a moment. Monique will let you in.
